Support Research at the Sahlgrenska Academy

Only one third of our research is funded through the University’s core government grant. Many research projects therefore depend on funding from external donors. Contributions through donations make it possible for researchers to explore new ideas and innovative research questions. In the long term, this leads to faster diagnostics and improved treatments.

Medical research is the foundation of knowledge development that improves healthcare. In addition to more accurate diagnostic methods and new treatments, research also contributes to more efficient use of healthcare resources and better patient care. The research conducted at the Sahlgrenska Academy is of great importance—not only to our region, but also internationally. We now hope for your support.

The University of Gothenburg is making strong investments in the development of life science in Western Sweden, with the goal of becoming nationally and internationally leading. This is a realistic ambition. At our faculty, the Sahlgrenska Academy, research is of a consistently high standard. In many research fields, our scientists are at the very forefront globally, often in close and inspiring collaboration with Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Please feel free to contact us for a dialogue if you are interested in donating to a specific research area. All donations, large or small, are equally welcome.
