Education

Kristineberg provides exceptional facilities for both lab and field education. Borrow our equipment, embark on excursions with our research vessels, and enjoy the convenience of overnight stay right at the station

What we offer

  • Course labs for teaching and lab work, with space for 18 and 12 people repectively. 
  • Guest lab with fume hoods for chemical handling, as well as running surface and deep water.
  • Thermoconstant rooms that allow for the replication of marine environments in experimental rooms with respect to air and water temperature, as well as salinity.
  • Analytical equipment such as microscopes, magnifying glasses, and other instruments.
  • Fieldwork equipment, borrow our wetsuits, snorkel gear, binoculars, waders and GoPro cameras.
  • Smaller boats with outboard motors for individual excursions.
  • Diving competence and equipment for courses in scientific diving and underwater documentation.
  • Auditorium with a projector, screens, sound system, and possiblity of live broadcasting. Seating up to 60 people.
  • Meeting and group room of different sizes, seating from 6 to 20 people.
  • On-Site accommodations in single, double, triple, or quad rooms to suit your group's needs.
  • Full-Board lodging with breakfast, lunch, and dinner at our station restaurant with a view of the sea and Gullmar fjord.

Kristineberg is easily accessible from Gothenburg, both by public transport and by car (approximately 90 minutes).
