Courses at the PhD programme
The third-level programme covers a part of the course worth 75 credits, of which 37.5 credits are compulsory method courses. On this page, you can see all the courses provided by the Department of Psychology.
The PhD and the Licentiate programme also require 5 credits in higher education pedagogics.
As a doctoral student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, you can select some of the faculty's joint doctoral student courses. When available, you can also attend courses arranged by other departments. You find all courses at the University of Gothenburg in the course database.
Nationalkommittén i psykologi (the Swedish National Committee for Psychological Sciences) lists doctoral courses in psychology provided by other higher education institutions in Sweden.
You decide together with your supervisor which courses you are to attend. If you have attended any previous courses for which credit transfers are required, this must be stated in the individual study plan. You apply to the courses in the course database.
