Rwandan doctoral students visit School of Global Studies
A group of three doctoral students from Rwanda recently completed their second and final three-month guest research visit (Sept–Nov 2025) at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg. The visit was part of the PhD program in Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies at the University of Rwanda (UR) in Kigali, conducted within the ongoing collaboration between UR and the School of Global Studies.
The aim of the visits is to offer the PhD students an opportunity to familiarize themselves with and participate in a research environment different from their home departments, to build academic networks, and to work closely with their Swedish supervisors.
During their stay, the doctoral students actively engaged in a range of academic activities, including seminars, workshops, and conferences. They also worked on their theses and concluded their final stay by presenting their draft manuscripts at a PhD mock defence seminar.
Four additional students are scheduled to visit the School of Global Studies in the spring of 2026.
