Guest researcher program

The School of Global Studies’ research strategy focuses on developing and maintaining a vibrant research culture through supporting collaborative activities and providing opportunities for academic exchange. The School runs a Guest Researcher Program to support collaboration between our staff and partners from other institutions.

The Guest Researcher Program is open to researchers who have an existing cooperation with one or several tenure-track or tenured staff members at the School of Global Studies, or are planning to carry out collaborative projects. One of your collaboration partners will act as your academic host and be responsible for introducing you into relevant research environments and support you both before and during your stay.

Apart from working on your project, you will actively participate in relevant research environments at the School of Global Studies, such as our subject councils and research groups.

Apply to the Guest Researcher Program

To apply for the Guest Researcher Program at the School of Global Studies, please fill out the application form (link below) in consultation with your academic host. The host must be a tenured or tenure-track teacher or researcher at SGS. In addition to the application form, you will also have to submit the following:

  • an outline of your planned research (1-2 pages);

Applications are welcome throughout the year and there is no official application deadline. Your application must be signed by you and your academic host before being submitted to the SGS Head of Research, Kilian Spandler (kilian.spandler@gu.se).
