Funding and collaborations
GGBC is made possible through the support of the University of Gothenburg, our partner organisations and external funders. Together, this funding enables us to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange and action for biodiversity.
GGBC’s base funding is provided by the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Gothenburg. The centre also receives support from the strategic research area Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate (BECC), the Region of Västra Götaland,, and our host institution, the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Gothenburg. In addition, all GGBC partner organisations contribute an annual partnership fee.
Research conducted by GGBC members is supported through a wide range of external funders, including national and international research councils, foundations and other organisations. These include e.g.
Swedish Research Council FORMAS
Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research
