Conference Framing: Transdisciplinary Approaches to Sustainability Governance, Reporting, and Accountability
The conference has one general track and five special tracks for submission of abstracts. If you see that your abstract fits into one of the five special tracks, please use that. Otherwise, please submit to the general conference track. Information about the special tracks is provided below. The submission link is at the bottom of this page. Once you get to the submission page, please indicate the chosen track.
Corporate sustainability encompasses dimensions of reporting, governance, and accountability. Collectively, this multi-dimensional issue cannot be adequately addressed by any single discipline. The ecological systems that corporations affect and are affected by operate according to dynamics that economics and accounting were not designed to capture; the governance frameworks intended to drive corporate change are shaped by institutional and political processes that environmental science rarely engages with; and the organisations expected to implement these frameworks face practical and strategic constraints that neither regulators nor scientists typically account for.
Meeting this challenge requires not merely conversations between disciplines but genuine integration: frameworks, methods, and arguments that hold ecological, legal, accounting, and organisational realities in view simultaneously. This conference is organised around that premise. Its five tracks map the terrain of sustainability governance and reporting from complementary disciplinary vantage points and are designed to be read together rather than in isolation.
