Research in accounting

Our research focuses on three main areas: financial accounting and sustainability reporting, management accounting, and accounting education.

We address important and current social issues, such as the regulation of financial and sustainability reporting, the factors affecting audit quality, and the practical operation of financial management – both strategically and operationally. Our work is carried out in close collaboration with Swedish companies and organisations, as well as national and international standard setters. This approach combines high scientific quality with clear practical and societal relevance. Our results are regularly published in internationally recognised scientific journals.

Additionally, we conduct educational research examining how different teaching methods affect student learning in accounting courses at higher education level.
