- The role of digital banking, digital currencies, Big Data and Big Tech.
- Blurring boundaries between markets through financial innovations, non-banks and banks, private credit/private equity/corporate ventures, and challenges for regulation.
- AI and robotics and their implications for changes in the nature of financial services provided and the institutions providing them.
- Labor market implications of these advances in technology for both financial service firms like banks and for their customers.
- The role of banks and other financial service firms (e.g. private credit, PE firms) in financing innovation to meet various societal needs.
Special Issue Submission
A subset of the papers submitted to the conference will be reviewed for publication in a Special Issue of The Review of Corporate Financial Studies. At the time of submission, please indicate whether you would like to have your paper considered (at no extra cost) for the Special Issue of the RCFS under the SFS Dual Submission Program. Submitting to the RCFS is not necessary for the paper to be considered for the conference. Moreover, this is a “no-fault” submission option, which means that if you do choose to submit to the RCFS, and the paper is not accepted for the Special Issue, it does not eliminate your ability to submit at a later date to the RCFS as a regular submission. as if the paper was never submitted. See the SFS website for the details of the Dual Submission program.
