Guest Researcher: Carla Braga

Carla Braga has a PhD in Anthropology from SUNY (State University of New York) in the USA and will be a guest researcher at the School of Global Studies in 2019.

Carla Braga has a PhD in Anthropology from SUNY (State University of New York) in USA. Presently she is the president of the Scientific Council, and Associate Dean for Research and Extension of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique. She has been a guest researcher at UNRISD (United Nations Research Institute in Social Development), at the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology-University of Uppsala-Sweden, and at the University of Georgia Athens-USA. She will be a guest researcher at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg, during May and early June 2019.

Her research interests include biomedical practice and culture in postcolonial contexts; inequality and health; and the linkages among human health and livelihoods; in the context of transnational fluxes of bodies, knowledge, technologies, and capital.
