Oncology

Welcome to the research area of oncology - cancer. Our research focuses on non-surgical treatment methods for tumor diseases, such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. Through enriching collaboration with the healthcare system and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, we have developed collaborative projects and meeting places that benefit both healthcare, research and the individual.

About us

We conduct research and development in many areas, from experimental molecular tumor and radiation biology to clinical and epidemiological research on the major tumor groups of prostate, breast, gynecological and head and neck cancer. We also provide advanced level teaching in the subject.

Research

Our researchers investigate the effects of different treatments on tumors, but also the consequences of the treatments on the surrounding normal tissue. They also research new treatment methods that are more tailored to the individual.

Education
