About Tommy Reinholdsson

Tommy Reinholdsson is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Psychology, University of Gothenburg. His research concerns adolescent development, identity, and well-being, with a particular focus on ethnic identity among young people in Sweden.

In his doctoral research, he examines how young people understand and relate to their ethnic, cultural, racialized, and national belonging. His research focuses, among other things, on how ethnic identity is shaped in everyday contexts such as family, school, and friendships, and how different dimensions of ethnic identity are associated with well-being, trust, and psychosocial development.

Tommy has a broad research interest in how psychological processes are shaped in relation to social contexts. He has previously published research in areas including environmental psychology, behavior change, and sustainable food choices, as well as adolescent body image, physical activity, and digital sexual experiences.

He is also a qualified upper secondary school teacher and has a particular interest in school and education, especially in relation to psychological factors such as identity, motivation, well-being, and social relationships.
