Roland Thomeés forskning riktar sig mot att alltför många patienter med ortopedisk skada har svårt att återställa sin funktion och återgå till bra fysisk aktivitet på såväl kort som lång sikt. Detta medför att många skadar sig igen och får klart ökad risk att drabbas av folksjukdomar.
Roland leder därför en forskargrupp med en ny modell för rehabilitering med funktionsmätningar och frågeformulär. Rehabmodellen förväntas få fler att återgå till bra och livslång fysisk aktivitet efter skada.
Hans forskargrupp har utvecklat ett unikt web-baserat online-system med automatgenererande kommunikations- och rapportfunktioner som resulterat i ett tidseffektivt och datasäkert system för att hantera mycket stora datamängder under lång tid.
