Linn Flaten, FD vid University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norge presenterar sin föreläsning:

"This seminar reports findings from a PhD project investigating how second graders engage in mathematical reasoning. The research demonstrated that students participating in Playful Inquiry-based Mathematics Activities advanced from trial-and-error to structured strategies, developing analytical problem-solving strategies. Crucially, their collaborative reasoning was characterised by the coordination of speech, gestures, and artifacts (multimodal reasoning) used to actualise arithmetic knowledge and justify their ideas. Insights into how guided play fosters deep mathematical sense-making and research-backed insights into the teacher's vital role in eliciting student agency and pushing reasoning toward generalisation will also be provided. These practical insights are essential for educators seeking to successfully implement student-centred approaches like inquiry and playful learning in primary mathematics instruction."
