About

In the wake of increased individualization of the western world since the 1960s, new forms of religion have emerged, sometimes referred to as new spiritualities, New Age or a new form of folk belief.

The course highlights these new spiritualities from social science perspectives, and addresses the social, cultural and structural changes that have contributed to its emergence. In addition, the course critically deals with issues of its local and global dimensions, commercial aspects and gender perspectives.

Entry requirements

Bachelor’s degree or University studies equal to a Bachelor’s degree, including an approved Bachelor thesis of at least 15 credits. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 5/English A from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
