Writing in Somali
Summary
If Somali is your mother tongue and you are interested in languages, then this is a course for you. It is also well suited for teachers of Somali as a mother tongue.
The aim of this course is to develop your writing skills in Somali and help you plan, structure and create written documents for different contexts.
About
Principles for written production and linguistic norms and rules are treated in direct connection with different practical written assignments. The students practice and develop their skills in editing text on the basis of such aspects as aim, receiver, intelligibility and language correctness. In the course, basic textual concepts are also treated and the students analyse texts of different kinds from communicative and structural perspectives. This theory and analysis is related to the students' own skills through work with the written exercises that are part of the course.

Prerequisites and selection
Entry requirements
The requirement for admission to the course is at least 5 credits each on SOL110 or SOL101 and SOL120 or SOL102, or the equivalent thereof. Exemption is given from English when the language of instruction is Swedish. Exemption is given from Swedish when the language of instruction is English.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
