Build your own degree
Within several of our subjects, students can combine different courses on their own and build their own unique programme. There is great flexibility and freedom of choice, and you can choose your specialisation during the course of your studies.
The path to a degree through courses
Instead of following a pre-defined programme, you can build your degree with courses that you combine yourself. Taking courses is a flexible way of studying and there is a wide variety of courses in different subjects to choose from. You can study part-time, evening or distance learning courses. Building your own degree allows you to build on your own interests and the career you are aiming for.
To earn a Bachelor's degree, you need to take undergraduate courses totalling three years of full-time study (180 credits). Each Bachelor's degree belongs to a specific subject, known as a major. The number of credits in the major field required for a particular degree varies. There may also be other requirements, such as specific courses included in a degree. Contact your study counsellor for more information about the degree you are interested in.
At the advanced level, you can study for a one-year Master's degree of 60 credits or a two-year Master's degree of 120 credits.
For more information, contact our undergraduate teaching coordinator, or study counsellors at departments.
