Conference Format

On this page, you'll find information about how the NORKOM conference is organized – from the structure of the working groups and presentation format to language options, accessibility, and key dates to keep in mind.

NORKOM is a working conference based on fixed working groups, where you participate in the same group throughout the entire conference. The focus is on collegial feedback and in-depth discussions about participants' ongoing work.

The working groups consist of 10–15 participants and are formed based on abstracts and titles. We aim for groups with shared themes and language use, a balance of experience levels, and good national diversity.

Each working group is led by a chairperson. The standard format is that each paper is discussed for at least 45 minutes, typically structured as follows:

  • Presentation: 8–10 minutes
  • Response/discussion by another participant: 8–10 minutes
  • Group discussion: 15–20 minutes

You are expected to give a short presentation as a basis for the discussion, with or without PowerPoint. All papers are shared in advance within the working group, and participants are expected to have read each other's texts beforehand. The texts will only be shared among conference participants.

Information about who is included in which working group will be sent out after registration has closed. If you have any comments regarding group placement, please contact Johanna Selin at johanna.selin@spa.gu.se

Language and Accessability
