About Geraldine Fauville

Dr. Géraldine Fauville is an Associate Professor at the Department of Education, Communication, and Learning at the University of Gothenburg. She is also an Affiliate at the Stanford Virtual Human Interaction Lab. With a dual background in marine biology and education/IT, her research explores how virtual reality can enhance marine education and foster ocean and environmental literacy. Her current work examines the impact of underwater virtual reality, where users experience a 360-degree dive video in a VR headset while being physically immersed in water. She is also the co-PI of OceanSpeak, a project that integrates virtual reality and artificial intelligence to enable users to engage in interactive discussions with AI-driven characters and deepen their understanding of marine environmental issues.
