Eva Billstedt är legitimerad psykolog, professor i psykologi med inriktning mot barn- och ungdomspsykiatri. Eva är sedan 1992 kliniskt verksam inom Neuropsykiatrisk mottagning barn och ungdom (BNK). Hon disputerade 2007 med en avhandling om autism och användandet av instrumentet DISCO i studier av autism.
Forskningsområden är neuropsykiatriska funktionsnedsättningar, såväl i kliniska (Aspergers syndrom/autism) som icke-kliniska populationer (ynglingar dömda för våldsbrott), den sistnämnda i samarbete med forskargruppen Rättspsykiatri, Göteborgs universitet. Eva har publicerat ett 90-tal fackgranskade vetenskapliga arbeten, framförallt inom områdena autism. Hon handleder flera doktorander vid GNC.
