Educational Pathways to Music
Research project
Short description
Doctoral thesis in music education by Camilla Sarner.
In Camilla Sarner’s doctoral thesis in music education, the life stories of music students are explored to trace their educational pathways toward higher music education, focusing on their motivations, strategies, and experiences. Through these micro-perspectives, the study deepens the understanding of how social reproduction takes shape within the field of music education, from early childhood to adulthood. The driving forces are rooted in both career ambitions and existential meaning, interpreted through Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical framework and Hartmut Rosa’s theory of resonance.
