Youth, gender and sustainability
Interest in ecological issues, and concern about climate change, is generally higher among young people than among adults. At the same time, girls and young women show a greater interest in sustainability, the environment and climate than boys and young men.
Against this background, a knowledge base is being developed as part of the Nordic programme Sustainable Lifestyles in the Nordic Region. The report is based on interviews and a survey of young people involved in organisations in the Nordic countries, to look more closely at gendered patterns and norms in young people's involvement in sustainable development.
