GPCC's steering committee: New members contribute with new expertise in law, health economic evaluation and more

Hanna Gyllensten, Ulf Petrusson and Axel Wolf will be new members of GPCC's steering committee, while Philip Moons, Karl Swedberg, Charles Taft and Lars Wallin will leave. Philip Moons, Karl Swedberg and Lars Wallin will instead become scientific advisers.

The GPCC steering committee has recently decided to strengthen the roles of our Scientific Advisors and Professors Lars Wallin and Philip Moons have as of this new year transitioned from members of the Steering Committee to Scientific Advisors. Charles Taft and Karl Swedberg have decided to retire from the Steering Committee.

We welcome three new members to GPCCs Steering Committee: Professor Ulf Petrusson, and Associate Professors Hanna Gyllensten and Axel Wolf; more about them below. We thank Charles Taft for his invaluable contributions to the GPCC since the start of the centre. 

Axel Wolf, Associate Professor and Senior Consultant Nurse Anaesthetist, Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. Axel has an Executive MBA degree and a PhD in healthcare science. He has been involved in GPCC since it was established ten years ago. He was the first PhD student linked to the centre. He has been involved in a number of projects at the centre; notably a synthesis project which has led to a recent BMJ publication and he has chaired the European committee for the recently approved European standard for patient involvement in person-centred care. 

Ulf Petrusson, Professor of Law, Department of Law, University of Gothenburg, Affiliated Professor, Chalmers University of Technology, Director, Institute for Innovation and Social Change, School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg and former Co-Director, Center for Intellectual Property (CIP), University of Gothenburg/ Chalmers University of Technology/Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Ulf will bring important perspectives and competences in the fields of law and knowledge utilization to the committee. He also has extensive experience of research centre management. Ulf is also P.I. for a GPCC project, Legal enabling of person-centered care. (Read more about the project in Swedish here.

Hanna Gyllensten, Associate Professor, Institute for Health and Care Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. Hanna is a Registered Pharmacist and has a PhD in Medical Science. Her research focuses on economic evaluations of person-centred interventions in healthcare, based on data collected within clinical trials and complemented by data from national and regional registers. She is involved in several GPCC projects, for example Medicines taking – a person-centred approach and IHOP-e - Integrating Health promotion with and for Older People-eHealth.
