Can Everything be Generalised, and to What Degree?

Published

To what degree can things be generalised? Is there infinite room or are there limitations? This is the central topic of this doctoral thesis in theoretical philosophy.

The answer is yes, although generalisations of such great magnitude lead to a variety of problems.
'One big problem lies in coming up with a semantics for such generalisations. The central contribution of the thesis consists of the construction of a model-theoretic semantics for unlimited generalisations', says Martin Filin Karlsson.
