Research Interests
Karin earned her PhD in 2019 with a dissertation on the long-term follow-up of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in children and adolescents. Her research area focuses on psychiatric conditions in children and young people, with a particular emphasis on OCD and OCD-related disorders such as body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). Ongoing research projects include long-term follow-ups of OCD treatment, evaluation of tailored parent interventions for autism and affective comorbidity, as well as the development and implementation of internet-delivered CBT for OCD and BDD — including for patients with co-occurring autism.
Her research includes both treatment studies and studies on underlying factors. The projects are conducted in collaboration with national and international research networks. Her research interests also include developmental disorders and psychiatric comorbidity, with a particular focus on life situations and daily functioning, family adaptation, sleep, and the transition from child and adolescent psychiatric care to adult mental health services.
