About GOLD
GOLD has been developed by compiling individual-level data obtained from Statistics Sweden (SCB) and other government agencies. SCB has handled the data merging and anonymisation. The University of Gothenburg has then documented and organised the data into a comprehensive database, which also includes material from the longitudinal UGU studies (Evaluation Through Follow-up), conducted since 1961.
This combination of register data and research data provides a unique resource for educational and social science research.
What does the database contain?
GOLD covers individuals born between 1972 and 2007. The database brings together data from sources including Statistics Sweden (SCB), the Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN), the Swedish Conscription Agency, the National Archives of Sweden, and the Swedish Council for Higher Education.
