Care in Long-term ConditionsAbout Tomás Gómez Vecchio
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, University of Gothenburg.
My research is situated within multidisciplinary collaborations, primarily in the Clinical Brain Tumor Research and Care for People with Long-Term Conditions research groups. I focus on patient populations diagnosed with brain tumors, employing both applied and methodological approaches to advance clinical understanding and care practices. My areas of expertise include:
- Analysis of functional outcomes, integrating both patient-reported and clinician-reported measures.
- Identification of risk factors and survival analysis.
- Radiomic analysis utilizing advanced computational techniques, including machine learning and deep learning.
- Ethnographic and content analysis to investigate social and cultural dimensions of care.
My research has been funded by grants from:
- Anna-Lisa och Bror Björnsons Foundation
- Wilhelm och Martina Lundgrens Foundation
- Rune and Ulla Amlöv Foundation for Neurological, Rheumatological and Audiological Research
- Assar Gabrielssons Foundation
- The Fundraising Foundation for Neurological Research
Qualifications:
- PhD in Medical Science – University of Gothenburg
- MSc with a mayor in Global Studies – University of Gothenburg
- BS in Nursing – University of Gothenburg
- BA in Anthropological Sciences – University of Buenos Aires
