About Tomás Gómez Vecchio

Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, University of Gothenburg.

Tomás Gómez Vecchio is a researcher specialising in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) in neuro-oncology. His work generates evidence relevant for clinical decision-making, health system planning, and reimbursement — combining registry-based longitudinal studies, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), survival analysis, radiomics, and multilevel statistical modelling.

He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Gothenburg (Sahlgrenska Academy), where he leads implementation research and co-designs support interventions for patients with malignant brain tumors and their caregivers. He collaborates across Swedish, Nordic, and European clinical and academic networks, including as first-author researcher for the EORTC Quality of Life Group and as research monitor for an international randomised controlled trial across six countries.

His methodological profile bridges quantitative outcomes science and qualitative intervention design. He holds a PhD in Medical Science (neuroscience), a BSc in Nursing, and an MSc in Global Studies. He holds also a background in social anthropology. Currently situated within multidisciplinary collaborations, primarily in the Clinical Brain Tumor Researchand Care for People with Long-Term Conditions research groups.
