About Staffan Albinsson

I returned to the academic track in 2010 after 35 years in music management.

My dissertation from 2013 deals with the financial history of composers with a focus on copyright payments.

I have previously, as Broman scholar, researched with a focus on cultural entrepreneurship.

Nowadays I am a visiting researcher with a main focus on the economic history of national operas. I have previously from time to time worked with the production of opera and I like to go to opera performances. But a more important reason for my research focus is that I discovered that there are huge archives concerning the ’national’ opera companies. And the art of opera has the advantage, from a research point of view, that it contains all the performing arts: music, drama, dance, scenography, stage directing, lighting etc.
