Kristin Wiksell
Senior Lecturer
Department of Sociology and Work ScienceAbout Kristin Wiksell
I teach at undergraduate and advanced levels, primarily in the subjects of sociology, work science, and human resource management. Additionally, I supervise students at the bachelor's and master's levels in these same subjects.
Since the fall of 2024, I have been the program coordinator for the Human Resource Management program, an interdisciplinary bachelor's program encompassing sociology and work science, psychology, pedagogy, business administration, and law, with the Department of Sociology and Work Science as the host institution.
My research primarily addresses issues related to social relations, power and resistance, and the organization of work and civil society in various contexts. A significant portion of my research focuses on the organization of employee-owned worker cooperatives in Sweden. I earned my Ph.D. in sociology in 2021 from Karlstad University with the dissertation titled "Organizing for Social Change: Worker Cooperatives in Capitalist Contexts."
