About Alexander Olausson

I am a PhD student at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences and affiliated with the Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC), Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and a Nurse Anaesthetist at Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Sahlgrenska University Hospital / Östra.

Research

My PhD project aims to evaluate the prerequisites and effects of an opioid-sparing person-centered care pathway compared to conventional opioid-based care in patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery. The PhD project is part of a larger randomized controlled trial, Effects of an Opioid Sparing Care Pathway for Patients undergoing Obesity Surgery, the OS-PCC-Study.

Primarily I am a teacher in the postgraduate programme in specialist nursing with specialization in anaesthesia care, but I also teach in other courses regarding anaesthesia at both bachelor- and postgraduate level.
