About Abhinayan Basu Bal
I lecture and research in the field of international trade and maritime law. Funding from the EU, national governments and industry bodies has supported some of my research endeavours. Since 2007 I have actively participated in the deliberations of UNCITRAL'S Working Group III (Transport Law) and Working Group IV (Electronic Commerce). I have published monographs, chapters in books and articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Earlier I worked at Lund University and was responsible for the delivery of the Master's Programme in Maritime Law. I read for my Ph.D. degree at the World Maritime University in Sweden where I participated in several research projects and also held a position of teaching and research fellow. I did my LL.M. in Maritime Law from University College London in the UK and hold B.Sc., LL.B. and MBL degrees from India. I was admitted to the Bar Council of India in 2005.
