About

The training aims for the student to acquire a scientific and professional approach such as the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in the clinic, evaluate their clinical work, empathic ability and be able to communicate and establish good contact with preschool patients, their guardians, and employees. The student is expected to become familiar with examining and evaluating the child's somatic and development and developmental disorders as well as medical and social conditions.

The course content is structured in different age ranges to reflect the changes the child goes through during its growth: this course includes preschool children, the primary bite: from birth to 6 years of age.

Each stage begins with an overview including the child's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, as well as epidemiology and etiology, diagnostics and treatment of oral diseases.

The course includes monitoring of bite development in children, training in showing patients with bite deviations for specialist dental care, "case" discussions and clinical work with planning and execution of simpler appliance treatment for bite deviations in children. Furthermore, an in-depth assessment of treatment needs and retention after treatment is given, as well as an overview of treatments for bite abnormalities in children with large and complicated treatment needs.

This course is open to
