About

This course is specially designed for international students and exchange students who are keen to understand written and spoken Swedish and take their first steps in speaking Swedish. The course will also give you an insight into Swedish culture and society. During the course, you will develop your ability to understand and communicate in Swedish, both in speech and writing.

In this course you get the chance to dive deep into Swedish language and culture. The course is divided into three modules: 1. Culture and society, 2. Speech and 3. Writing. Each module focuses on different aspects of language and culture, and gives you a well-founded understanding of Sweden.

You will develop your understanding of Swedish grammar and the connection between pronunciation and spelling. In addition, you will get an introduction to Swedish culture and society, both on a national and local level. The course also gives you the opportunity to exchange experiences and experiences of studying and living in Sweden with other students.

After the course, you will have knowledge and skills in Swedish corresponding to most of level A1 according to CEFR. This means that, for example, you will be able to write short messages and talk orally about yourself, your studies and your immediate surroundings on a basic level.

SWE010 is a course that is open to all international students, regardless of previous experience of Swedish.
