About

The course is intended for students whose first language is not Swedish.

Its main aim is to help you develop your ability to express yourself in idiomatic Swedish, both orally and in writing. To promote functional language use, the course focuses on raising awareness of linguistic norms and variation in Swedish in relation to several other European languages (English, French, and German).

This course is open to

Exchange students at the Department of Languages and Literatures and exchange students on a university-wide agreement. Please contact your international coordinator at the University of Gothenburg if you need to know more.

Entry requirements

To be admitted to the course, students must fulfill general entry requirements and have completed the course SPL161 Swedish in contrast I: language and sound structure, 7.5 credits or the equivalent thereof.

This course can be combined with

SPL161 Swedish in Contrast I: Structure and Sound (autumn course)
Note that SPL162 is a continuation of SPL161
