Earth System Sciences
About
The course provides knowledge about the Earth System as a whole and to critically analyse and evaluate society's measures against global environmental challenges.
The focus is on how the various spheres influence each other and interact to create the Earth System.
The course covers:
- concepts and theories in Earth System Science
- links between the Earth's spheres
- links between Earth System processes and global environmental changes.
The course is part of the Bachelor’s Programme in Earth Sciences, the course is also offered as a freestanding course.

Language of instruction: English
The teaching is carried out by dedicated teachers who are researchers in the field. The course has a strong research and labour market connection, which you as a student will benefit from.
This course is open to

Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires 90 credits in the main field Earth Science, Environmental science or Geography. Applicants with an equivalent education may be admitted to the course after review and approval.
English proficiency
Incoming students should have an English level equivalent of B2 or higher as courses and materials, including presentations and exams, will be in English.
