English, Intermediate Course. Theme course in English linguistics
About
The theme of the course may vary.
Examples of themes: discourse analysis, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, language history.
You train your abiltity to describe and analyse linguistic concepts,
phenomena and theories that are included in the theme of the course.
You learn to apply linguistic theory and method in the analysis of course
material and in your own production on the basis of the theme of the
course. You also practice communicating in an idiomatically,
grammatically and academically correct way in speech and in writing in
English.
This course is open to
Exchange students at the Department of Languages and Literatures and exchange students on a university-wide agreement. Please contact your international coordinator at the University of Gothenburg if you need to know more.
This course can be combined with
- EN1213, English linguistics, 7.5 credits, quarter 1-2
- EN1215, English Literary studies, 7.5 credits, quarter 1-2
- EN1217, Theme course in English literary studies, 7.5 credits, quarter 3-4
Together these four courses/modules form the Intermediate course in English, 30 credits (EN1210).
