Interpretation in Opera 2
Summary
This is a continuation course of Interpretation in Opera 1. The course offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in interpretation and opera repertoire for an additional semester and develop your vocal and theatrical skills further.
About
Interpretation in Opera 2 is a continuation course for students who have completed Interpretation in Opera 1 and wish to continue developing as opera singers.
During the course, you will receive individual singing lessons and work on an opera role with an opera director and vocal coach. You will also receive audition training and coaching from a pianist from the Göteborg Opera. The course also includes performing in a concert with a symphony orchestra.
You will take part in group classes in dance and movement, as well as masterclasses with other opera students. You may also have the opportunity to perform a role in one of the Academy of Music and Drama’s opera productions.
The course is assessed through a public staged concert or participation in an opera production.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements for Interpretation in Opera 2 are a Pass grade in Interpretation in Opera 1.
Selection
Eligible applicants will be called to an audition after the last application date on which the selection is based. Ranking is done after assessed vocal skills.
Facilities
The Academy of Music and Drama operates from five locations in Gothenburg: Eklandagatan 86, Fågelsången 1 (Konstnärliga), Åvägen 24 (Brewhouse), Vasagatan 50 (HDK-Valand) and Triörgatan 1 (Angered centrum).
