About
This is a 100% web-based course continuing the introduction of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Part I consists of practical exercises using GIS tools and technology. Part II consists of an individual project applying acquired GIS skills. After the course you will have understanding of how GIS as tool can be used to solve spatial problems of different complexity and how to evaluate and compare different sources for geographical data and data capturing techniques.

Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.
For admission to the summer 2021 and onward the following selection applies: selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
After graduation
Upon completion of this introduction continuation GIS course, one can continue with an distance course in remote sensing NGN235.
