About
The course deals with central methods and techniques in the development of formal grammatical approaches to Natural Language such as:
- phrase-structure grammar
- categorial grammar
- feature-based grammar formalisms
It also provides an overview of syntactic constructions and how they are to be described and implemented in a formal grammar.

Prerequisites and selection
Requirements
Passing grade in each of the following courses: Introduction to programming, 7.5 credits Introduction to formal linguistics, 7.5 credits Natural Language Processing, 15 credits or equivalent language technology skills and knowledge.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
