Short description

The research comprises clinical and experimental studies of inflammatory skin diseases, primarily psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and cutaneous lymphomas. Projects investigate vitamin D levels, phototherapy effects, and analyze lipids, vitamin D and its receptors in skin tissue using methods such as mass spectrometry imaging, RNAscope® and immunohistochemistry. Studies also examine circadian regulation of skin biology and its alteration in psoriasis, as well as links between skin disease, depression, the gut microbiome and lifestyle factors. Additional work includes development of evaluation tools, treatment outcomes in atopic dermatitis based on the SwedAD registry, and epidemiological studies of skin disease in Västra Götaland.
