Short description

The project aims to, through fieldwork at a number of workplaces, explore in which contexts practices related to ethnicity, culture, and religion are made relevant and how they are intertwined with other identity-creating categories.

Background

Over the past decade, public discussions and research on diversity and integration have become increasingly polarized. At the same time, diversity has become a common experience in everyday life. Despite the great interest in integration, we know very little about how this new everyday diversity is understood and practiced.

Research aims and method

Through fieldwork at a number of workplaces the project aims to explore in which contexts practices related to ethnicity, culture, and religion are made relevant and how they are intertwined with other identity-creating categories.
