Short description

FOR-ETHICS studies value conflicts, ethical challenges and possible solutions to these in the context of attempts to improve the evidence base of of person centred and collaborative forensic psychiatric care. The project combines philosophical analysis with interpretation of empirical data, e.g., regarding the experience of staff and patients or the design and outcome of intervention trials of new treatments. In the background are basic questions regarding how to view the decision competence, capacity for responsibility and moral agency of forensic psychiatric patients, especially considering the strongly coercive context motivated by the mental ill-health of the patients.
