Schools and the Public

Both schools and the general public are welcome to visit the research stations Tjärnö marine laboratory and Kristineberg Center. Guided tours, excursions and experiments are arranged here. We also have other maritime-related initiatives aimed at schools and the general public.

Tjärnö Marine Laboratory

Tjärnö Marine Laboratory is located by Sweden's most species-rich marine area in the northern part of Bohuslän province. At the Research Station school classes and other groups can book a visit. The public is welcome to visit Tjärnö Marine Laboratory all year around. Most activities are offered during summer vacation period (early July to mid-August)

Kristineberg Center

Kristineberg Center is located by the Gullmar fjord in the centre of Bohuslän province. The Research Station offer guided tours, excursions, algae testing and seaweed safari.

Ocean Blues

The Ocean Blues project wants to turn eco-anxiety into eco-action by linking non-academic young adults to the scientific community. The long-term goal is a sustainable use of the ocean.
