Postdoctoral researcher, marine biodiversity
The Department of Marine Sciences, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in marine biodiversity within the Formas-funded project Measuring what matters. The project aims to fill knowledge gaps in marine monitoring by developing genetic indicators and modern monitoring methods for ecosystem status assessments. The work includes fieldwork, molecular genetic laboratory work, bioinformatics, ecological modelling and the development of FAIR data flows into biodiversity data infrastructures.

Doctoral student, physical oceanography
The Department of Marine Sciences, is looking for a doctoral student in physical oceanography. The project focuses on fine-scale ocean and atmosphere dynamics in the Agulhas Current System south of Africa, with the aim of understanding vertical transport, ventilation pathways and water mass transformation in the ocean. The work is part of the ERC Synergy project WHIRLS and may include research cruises, new glider missions, autonomous platforms, satellite-based products and high-resolution model simulations.
