Thomas Backhaus, FRAM’s Centre Director, was interviewed by the Swedish public broadcaster SVT about why we need to clean-up water from pharmaceutical residues, for which methods are investigated at Mälardalens högskola.
– The problem is that we are exposed to those chemical cocktails over our whole life. Even if you look at chemicals in the body of newborn babies you will still find manmade chemicals that should not be there. And we have very little understanding of the long term consequences of those exposures”, says Thomas Backhaus to SVT.
