Pleased guests at the Tjärnö Laboratory

Published

From ”The soup was the best I've had in my life” to ”Great safety talk” – that are some of the opinions from guests at the Tjärnö Laboratory during the last years. A recurring evaluation shows very high grades.

During 2015-2025 guests were, prior to departure, asked to evaluate seven parts of infrastructure. These are contact before arrival, lodging, restaurant, labs, ships, lecture halls and IT. The inquiry is simple and can be completed in one minute. Opinions were given anonymously, in a five-grade scale and it was possible to give comments.

The purpose with the evaluation is to understand what students and guest researchers appreciate, or are dissatisfied with, and to get suggestons for improvements.

Among positive comments are ” the new furniture in the living room is great”, ”11/10 – worth every penny” (about the food), ”the soup was the best I've had in my life!”, ”perfect for what we needed”, ”great safety talk” (on the research vessel) and ”appreciated especially the very friendly and trustful atmosphere!”.

Negative comments include ”too cold or too warm in the rooms”, ”lousy internet” and ”would be nice with outlets in the big lecture hall” – valuable feedback for us to make improvements.

”I'm glad to learn that our users are pleased, it's the best reward you can get for your job”, says Marina Panova, station manager at the Tjärnö Marine Laboratory.

”I want to give a big shout out to everyone who works at the Tjärnö Laboratory and do a fantastic job with service and knowledge to our visitors, despite a tight economy. I hope more people want to come to us to discover our fantastic environment, learn something new about the sea or conduct research.
