No men accepted to the opera programmes

 Swedish national public television, Svt, reported in its cultural news show "Kulturnyheterna" on Monday 7 March that no male applicants were accepted to either of Sweden's two opera bachelor programmes this year. "The number of male applicants was very small and we can not accept people on a genrer quota basis, but only based on their performance", says Monica Danielson, Director of studies at the opera program at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg.
