FRAM participates in a new network for chemical substitution

In the work of replacing hazardous chemicals with alternatives that are better for health and the environment, representatives from companies, authorities, NGOs and research centers have gathered in a new network.

On September 25, the first meeting was held with the new network for chemical substitution started by the Swedish Center for Chemical Substitution in Borås. The network includes representatives from companies, authorities, NGOs and research centers. The purpose is to increase cooperation and exchange of information on how substitution of hazardous chemicals. The meeting began with a presentation by Gunvor Eriksson, State Secretary at the Ministry of the Environment, on the Government's strategy for meeting the environmental goal of a non-toxic environment.

The network's next activity takes place on November 16, when Professor Joel Tickner, University of Massachusetts Lowell, will give a lecture on methods for assessing alternatives to hazardous chemicals.
