Arctic in a changing climate – doctoral course open for registration

Admission is now open for the PhD course "Arctic in a changing climate" - an interdisciplinary course where you will gain a broad holistic knowledge of the Arctic and how Arctic systems are affected by the ongoing climate change.

The course starts on 17 November 2025 but only one week will be taught in person on campus at the University of Gothenburg: 24 – 28 November.

This course is taught in English and includes lectures and seminars covering current active research questions: Atlantification of the Arctic, the collapse (or not) of the AMOC, Polar amplification, the permafrost methane bomb, and Arctic greening, browning, burning.

During the course we aim to provide a stimulating forum for you as a research student and contribute with questions that will challenge and broaden your perspectives.

"Arctic in a changing climate" is given in the framework of the research school ClimBEco.
