The Nordic Working Life Conference (NWLC) is a biennial, interdisciplinary research conference and one of the main meeting places for scholars working within the broad field of working life studies in the Nordic countries. It is organized by the Department of Sociology and Work Science, University of Gothenburg, in collaboration with the Nordic Journal of Working Life Studies.
The conference brings together researchers and doctoral students working in Nordic contexts to explore and advance knowledge about sustainable transitions in contemporary working life. Social, environmental and economic perspectives, as well as individual and collective dimensions of working life, will be central to the conference.
Beyond the research community, NWLC also seeks to engage a broader range of stakeholders with an interest in working life and labour market issues. Participants include policymakers, government officials, trade union representatives, employers’ organisations, labour market practitioners, and other professionals involved in the development of working life and labour market policy.
